NASBLA Sponsors Highlighted at Upcoming Conference: Boat Ed September 7, 2010

The NASBLA Annual Conference, as well as many other programs and events throughout the year, simply could not be done without the generous support of our sponsors. This is particularly true for our Mission and Strategic Partners.
The NASBLA Mission Partner, Boat Ed, is an important member of the boating safety family. Their generous support not only allows us to bring strong and dynamic programming to both the BLA workshop and the annual conference, but their support also launched and runs the innovations in technology program.
The Innovations in Technology Initiative leverages the latest technology to help the states and territories make boating safer and more enjoyable, and make the most efficient use of scarce state resources. By identifying, investigating and publicizing technological applications that demonstrate the greatest promise in achieving our RBS objectives, NASBLA and its ITI partners bring the proven results of emerging technologies to the tough issues facing boating safety, enforcement, education and administration.

Paul Donheffner (center), boating law administrator for Oregon, accepts the Innovations in Technology Award on behalf of the Oregan State Marine Board. Presenting the award are Kurt and Cindy Kalkomey on behalf of NASBLA Mission Partner Boat Ed.
The Innovations in Technology Award is presented annually to the program or initiative that demonstrates the highest level of innovation leading to advances in boating safety. States or other government agencies, corporations or public-private partnerships can submit their program or innovation by submitting an award nomination form. In 2009, this prestigious award was presented to the Oregon State Marine Board.
Boat Ed is a private organization dedicated to providing boater safety courses and certification and publishing boater education materials. Boat Ed works directly with the state government agencies responsible for boater safety education to develop home-study courses, such as the online and video boating safety courses found on this site.
Each of Boat Ed’s courses is the official online boating safety course for the state government agency responsible for boating.
Boat Ed is the official and exclusive provider of print and video boating safety courses for more than 45 states. And, Boat Ed is the only boating safety course provider that develops print materials on behalf of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the United States Power Squadrons.
NASBLA is proud of our relationship with Boat Ed and deeply appreciative of their support of our association and member states.
Be sure to visit with Boat Ed in the Exhibitor area at the NASBLA Annual Conference.
